MY ROLE:I manage all aspects of the buying department. This involves understanding construction drawings so I can produce the most competitive budget, negotiating best rates on all materials and plant hire, monitoring where on-site materials purchased are used, signing off invoices and liaising with subcontractors and site managers throughout the build so that all procurement requirements are met. I genuinely enjoy coming to work every day. I’m part of a close team who all get on with each other. I like that I get to visit sites, further my understanding of construction and meet new people. Working in construction is rewarding because you see an empty plot turn into a community for people to call home.
MY BACKGROUND:I worked for a number of builders merchants before I started at Vision Construct, including Jewson, Build Base and Grahams. I joined Vision Construct in November 2006.
MY VISION:I’m excited to be part of the team that grows Vision Construct. I hope I have many happy years ahead of me working for this company.
MY FAVOURITE THINGS:Family, food (cooking at home and eating out), socializing, travelling to new countries, music and horse racing. I’m also a DIY enthusiast!
